Pleasing your partner? Should you or not?
I get asked or told by clients, what and how to wear their hair to please their partner on so many occasions that it has become like sex therapy and I say this because it is just another way to please your partner outside the bedroom!
It’s true and I said it! If you look at the whole concept, we are obsessed with anti aging this and that, from clothes all the way down to our toes. So it makes sense to give your love the best that you have to offer and if your hair is a great asset to you then use it wisely ladies and gents to its fullest potential.
The biggest mistake people make, is that they want to please the other so much that they forget what they want and what looks good on them. In the end they feel like they are wearing shoes that are one size too small and it’s very uncomfortable and written all over their face. Been there? I’m sure we all have at one point or another. If this brings back memories from the past and you laugh at it, that’s golden. The big question is should you please on and on till the break of dawn? Only if you feel good about it darlings!
I think everyone looks good in something but not “everything” works. Men always love long hair even if it’s hanging by a thread and women like a clean-cut men with maybe a 5 o’clock shadow if you can pull it off like Hugh Grant: or Patrick Dempsey
).
So my advice is get a mutual agreement going, so that both parties are happy and look fabulous! This way no one is struggling in the mirror for perfection or expecting a daily reassurance that you look “HOT”. If you trust your stylist then let them help you and give suggestions for a great outcome that you can handle and look and feel fabulous. To be honest, nothing is worth that much if you’re not happy about it.
Hair Color Correction
Color correction is a skill that has to be learned over years and experience in our field.
I don’t know anyone who just “get it’s it” right away. If that is the case I would like to meet them:). A definition of this service is when an individual has a color or several different ones going on simultaneously throughout the entire head or partial. To be honest many of us have seen this, and/or experienced it in some way or form. It can be a really traumatic experience for most people since we carry our hair as a symbolic identity of who we are and how we express ourselves in today’s world.
So then, a big part of this procedure can take several hours or even up to a few days. As a professional we have to understand how far we can go depending on the porosity and integrity of the hair on top of gauging your “Target color” (desired). At this point we become a chemist and our brain is full of ideas and thoughts on top of handling the client’s anxiety which is very common and understandable. A great analogy about this service is something like this, a person shatters their favorite vase in a million pieces and then comes in and says, “can you put this back together flawlessly?
The answer to that is and I’m sure you have guessed it by now, you can’t put a million pieces back together flawlessly without seeing some glue and maybe a few cracks here and there and that my friends is like working on hair that is compromised. A great colorist will take you step by step through the procedure and discuss your options and how much it’s going to cost.
They can charge by the hour or by the service depending on how far and deep the damage has gone. The great news is that there is recovery of up to 80% to 90% of the time due to the damage that was done and how we glue it back together with your desired color. Even after your recovery, there is a ritual of products that should be used, guided by your professional stylist to help your color last longer and look fabulous while doing so.
The biggest reward I get out of it is when a client has tears in their eyes and says “OMG! this is so much better and it looks so natural! You’re the best!” That’s when you know you have achieved your “Target Color” and all those years of studying and paying for classes has paid off:))).
